Preface:
This article depicts the situation in which Taliban captured Kandahar and Herat and assessment of war strategies and the problems arising out of the ongoing fighting. It also states various stages of the campaign of Taliban, especially in the backdrop of foreign factors behind the fall of Herat. Passing references have been given to related matters but the main theme of the article is the fall of Herat. My paper – How Taleban came? – has been published in Haft-Qalam magazine. Each of the events circumscribing the fall of Herat, invasion on Kabul and, especially the emergence of Taleban needs separate assessment.
