This book was published a month back and Dr.Taizi had sent its CD to the charwak just
two days prior to his death to be published on these pages. We are
publishing it while praying for the departed soul.

PESHAWAR: Abdul Akbar Khan born at village Utmanzai, district Charsadda in 1899
a reputed freedom fighter, poet and popular proponent of Khuhdai Khidmatgar
Tehrik received his early education at his village Maktab and then sent to
Islamia School Peshawar city in 1906. He did his matriculation from Islamia
Collegiate School, Peshawar in 1916. Akbar took admission to Islamia College
Peshawar but 1917 proved a landmark in his life, his father passed away, Red
revolution took place in Russia, Germany lost the war and Ottoman Empire fell
apart, all these events cast indelible marks on his mind.

PESHAWAR, Men of letters arranged a grand launching ceremony of veteran Pashtun
nationalist leader and eminent poet Ajmal Khattak’s poetry collection ‘ Da
Speenghar Da Sarah here Tuesday at jam packed Zubair Mir hall, Peshawar Press
Club. Rokhan Yousafzai opened the ceremony function. Speakers in their research
papers said that Ajmal Khattak in fact not only revolutionized Pashto poetry but
also influenced almost four successive generations of poets and writers and
brought about a remarkable change in their outlook on many fronts. They observed
that Ajmal introduced a new voice in Pashto poetry reflecting aspirations and
dreams of common people. It, they added strengthened people’s belief in a kind
of poetry that could bring them some relief from the clutches of exercising
right of their of freedom of speech.

With increasing research tools and a considerable improvement in academics
especially in higher education at post-graduate and post doctoral levels, new
practical ways are coming into play, accordingly researchers being conscious of
the emerging socio-linguistic needs are utilizing their inquisitive
potentialities to ding out new venues for the hidden treasure trove. It is
noteworthy that young people are getting interested in bring out new things to
forth and are enthusiastic more than their predecessors. Abdullah Jan Abid an
active member of teaching faculty at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU)’s
department “ Pakistani Languages” is a young inspired soul whose efforts in the
field of research have received accolades from senior critics and research
scholars like Dr Jamil Jaalibi, Prof Fatah Muhammad Malik, Iftikhar Arif, Dr
Inamul Haq Javed, Ajmal Khattak, Prof Pareshan Khattak late, Dr Abdul Aziz Sahir,
Dr Parvez Mahjoor Khesgi, Salim Raz, Hashim Babar and many others.
