MPA succumbed to injuries, Hoti announces 3 days mourning |

Chief Minister Pakhtunkhwa has announced three days mourning at official level over the tragic death of late MPA Alamzeb Khan.
Peshawar—Ruling party MPA and Chairman standing committee on Excise and
Taxation Alam Zeb Khan was killed in a remote controlled bomb blast which left
seven more people seriously injured in a congested locality of the provincial
metropolis on Wednesday morning. The injured include the MPA’s brother, his
bodyguard and a personal assistant.
While the eyewitness and the officials say the alleged terrorists targeted the
vehicle of Alamzeb Khan at Dalazak road where he had gone to inaugurate a school
in Momin Town falling in his constituency PF 1 Peshawar 1. Capital City Police
chief Sifwat Ghayoor said the explosive device was planted in a motorbike parked
on main road in Momin Town, Dalazak road that went off as the vehicle of the ANP
MPA came closer to it.
The vehicle of Alam Zeb Khan, who was also a member of the Public Accounts
Committee, was destroyed completely and number of nearby houses were also
damaged badly as the explosion was heard in vast area. The injured were
immediately shifted to Lady Reading Hospital where emergency was declared and a
team of doctors did their best to save the life of Alam Zeb Khan who also
underwent surgery. He, however, lost battle for his life after several hours
sending a wave of grief and anger among his thousands of party supporters, party
leaders and relatives who had gathered out side the hospital.
The doctors at the Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar have also termed the condition
of two more injured as critical. CCPO Sifwat Ghayur said it was a high intensity
blast that totally smashed vehicle of the MPA while boundary walls of two houses
completely collapsed besides breaking the window panes of scores of the houses
in the nearby vicinity. The blast ripped through a very congested locality which
is always jam-packed with the people and motorists.
The injured have been identified as Alam Zeb’s Gunman Daud Khan, Personal
Assistant Abdul Hassan, Haider Khan, Usman Khan and Hameed Khan. The NWFP
Minister for information Mian Iftikhar Hussein while commenting upon the killing
of his party MPA said he was targeted by the forces which were opposed to the
peace. He said his party still believed in the dialogues with the militants who
were hell bent to disrupt the peace of the province. The minister However,
lamented the militants did not respond to the goodwill gesture of the government
and in fact their activities were now getting intolerable. He also hinted at
crushing the militants with full might.
The Provincial Chief Minister has announced three days mourning at official
level over the tragic death of late MPA Alamzeb Khan. The Chief Minister Ameer
Haider Khan Hoti has strongly condemned the killing of ANP MPA Alamzeb Khan and
termed it a great loss to the party and Pukhtoons. The space vacated due to his
martyrdom will remain blank and the services rendered by him will be written in
golden words. It is to remind that Alamzeb Khan injured seriously in a bomb
blast on Wednesday morning near Momin Town. He was immediately shifted to Lady
Reading Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died.
The Chief Minister in his condolence message said that the late Alamzeb Khan was
an active public figure and being a follower of Bacha Khan always worked for
humanity. His services to the party, politics and democracy would be remembered
forever. The Chief Minister prayed for the soul of shaheed Alam Zeb Khan and
endurance to his family members and well-wishers.
The Chief Minister said that such inhuman actions are highly condemnable in
which innocent people bathed in blood. “The miscreants and enemy to state are
involved in nefarious actions to destroy peace in the region. However they will
never succeed in it. And the attacks on ANP ministers, MPAs will never weaken
the party and provincial governments firm resolves.” he added.
Central President of Awami National Party, Asfandeyar Wali Khan has strongly
condemned the killing of ANP member provincial assembly Alam Zeb Khan in a bomb
blast and expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic incident.
In his condolence message he strongly condemned terrorism and said that thirty
years ago our leaders had predicted it a war between two super powers. However
the rulers neglected it and now the destruction spread to our region. He said
that ANP leaders and workers have been always rendering great sacrifices for the
survival of this region . He said that the establishment of peace is impossible
until extremism and terrorism should be rooted out. He lauded the services to
the party and public friendly nature of Alam Zeb Khan. He expressed the hope
that the sacrifices rendered by ANP will not go in waste.
Meanwhile provincial president Afraseyab Khattak has also strongly condemned the
bomb blast and termed it inhuman act. He lauded the services of late Alam Zeb
Khan and said that his sacrifice will be remembered by every member of the
party. He further added that forces behind spreading terror and massacre will
meet their fate.
Central Secretary for foreign Affairs Dr. Haider Ali Khan, Central Information
Secretary Zahid Khan, Provincial Gen. Sec. Tajuddin Khan and Sec. Information
Abrab Muhammad Tahir Khan has also termed the tragic incident as a great loss to
