 Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti visits Akora Khattak

Veteran politician, eminent writer, renowned Pastho poet and former President of ANP, Ajaml Khattak was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard at Akora Khattak in Nowshera district on Monday afternoon. The funeral prayer of the ANP leader was attended by thousands of his well-wishers from across the country and Afghanistan to pay homage to political and intellectual services of the legendary poet. Khattak breathed his lost due to high long protected illness at his residence late last night.

Conspicuous among them who attended the last rituals of Ajmal Khattak are Federal Minister for Railways, Ghulam Ahmed Bilour,State Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Masood Abbass Khattak, PML-N leaders, Zafar Iqbal Jehagra, Saranjam Khan, Raja Zafarul Haq, ANP Provincial President and Health Minister Syed Zahir Ali Shah, Senators, MNAs, MPAs, senior politicians, poets, academicians and people from cross section of the society. A high level delegation of Afghanistan has also attended the funeral prayer of Ajmal Khattak.

PESHAWAR: Prominent intellectual, writer, poet, veteran politician and former ANP central president Ajmal Khattak died at his native Akora Khattak town, Nowshera district, at the age of 85.
He breathed his last late Sunday evening after protracted illness. He had been bedridden for sometime due to a host of diseases but was mentally alert. A sobbing Aimal Khattak, one of the three sons of Ajmal Khattak and also a writer and human rights activist, said that “Baba” had died and we have to face this reality.
